Home Saunas

In order for you to install a new Sauna in your home you must choose the correct type of Sauna, as there are four different variations to choose from.

These being Steam, Far- Infrared, Hot Air and Light Sauna’s.

Each one has a different type of construction and work differently to the other.

An important factor to remember when installing your home sauna is that they all basically have the same goal, this being to create a very hot environment within the sauna to make you sweat.

Far-Infrared sauna’s apply direct heat at you rather than heat the whole space in the sauna.

Where-as Steam saunas apply water to the very hot rocks and this creates the steamy and very hot sauna.

Heat lamps are used in what is known as a Light Sauna to create that same type of heat environment.

And finally blowers and heaters are used in a Hot Air Sauna to warm the sauna giving the same hot environment as all the others.

When choosing your sauna consider what experience you wish to achieve and how much it will benefit you by having your own home sauna.

The most difficult sauna to build is the traditional steam sauna, reason being they have to be able to withstand the humidity, and the amount of water used in this type of sauna.

As for Hot Air, Light Saunas, and Far- Infrared they can be installed in any existing room or area, as they do not require any major construction work, as does the Steam Sauna.

The main points of installing any sauna is that it has to have an electrical source to be able to work, although on some occasions you can use existing fixtures, although you may not find this practical if installing the Infrared Hot Air or Light Sauna’s as they need a larger amount of heat to power them.

You may also find that some of the steam saunas pull a lot of electrical currant and will therefore require a heating element, which will in most cases be included in the kit.

Each kit will have all the necessary equipment and instructions needed to build your own home sauna.

Your own personal preference will determine which type of sauna you decide to choose, base this upon operation, installation,
Running cost, whether you prefer steam or the drier environment.

Whichever one you opt for ensure it fulfils all your requirements.
